his course provides a comprehensive introduction to Family Life Health Education (FLHE) and Education for health an Wellbeing (EHW) in Nigeria. It traces the historical background and evolution of these programs, highlighting their critical role in promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Participants will explore the foundational concepts of FLHE and EHW, gaining insights into how these approaches are tailored to the Nigerian educational context.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Trace the background and evolution of FLHE in Nigeria, understanding its roots and current relevance.
  • Clearly explain the concept of FLHE/EHW, including its objectives and key areas of focus.
  • Outline at least three school activities or programs where FLHE can be effectively implemented, such as classroom discussions, health clubs, and peer education initiatives.
  • Highlight two key delivery approaches that can be used to implement FLHE/EHW programs in schools, such as participatory learning and peer-led education.
